On Monday, Schuyler and I met up with my former host sister Amelie for a really fun dinner across the lake! She brought along 5 other French friends, her boyfriend (who's really cool!) and two Swedish exchange students.
When Sky and I got there, we were a little weirded out because the restaurant was right next to a huge supermarket (sort of American mall-esque). But it was this really cool buffet place where you get a bunch of great French salads, entrees, meats, cheeses and desserts, and then you sit outside on a neat terrace thing for dinner. Highlights included salmon tartare (which I had never had, but liked!), a really good tomato and cheese salad, really awesome bread and cheese, and the desserts, oh the desserts! Between the two of us, Sky and I had a slice of raspberry tarte, this strawberry creme thing in a chocolate shell, a meringue blob in this delicious creamy sweet goo, and the best - raspberries in this white chocolate creamy deliciousness! Not very French to be all-you-can-eat like that, but we got our money's worth.
Odin's last day of work was on Wednesday. He was definitely awesome - we hung out all the time and got along super well. I'll really miss him a lot. We had a really fun going away dinner for him at a local restaurant. Boo.
Well, for those of you who haven't heard, Diana (another intern) and I are planning a super trip when we're done here in Talloires! We'll take a plane to Lisbon, Portugal on August 14th, and backpack south along the coast to Spain. A bunch of my friends know the area from when they studied abroad last year, so we have some great sights to see and places to stay. Hopefully we'll get to take a boat over to Morocco for a day, and then eventually we'll head up to Madrid via train. From Madrid, we'll fly to Paris on the 26th of August to meet up with my mom and Terry. I am SOOOO pumped! We just got a few things from this amazing camping store, and we're having a great time working out the details. I can't wait!

Hi Andrea!
If you're still looking for places to stay, Oasis Backpackers Hostel is a good hostel to stay at. There is one in Granada and one in Sevilla. Happy travels; sounds like fun!!
