Well, I came off of my home visit relaxation session straight into a weekend off! It was pretty awesome. We chilled in Annecy during the day, then went dancing all night at one of the sketchy local bars (we're too stingy for the hard core cover charges at the fancy discotheques). On Sunday it rained all day, which was awesome. It forced the other interns to relax, bake, listen to music and play cards with me all day.
We took the high schoolers on of the most beautiful hikes I've ever experienced! It was called Beauregard (beautiful view) and was not too steep but meandering and gorgeous! Meeting and chatting with the students has been cool. They come from all over (Alaska, the Carribean, California, Boston) and from all different walks of life. They're cute and young and impressionable.
We BBQ'd for the Tufts in Annecy kids (8 college students doing a French immersion course through Tufts in the city of Annecy). Odin and I organized a hilarious game of French Jeapardy, I was edged out in petanque (bocce), and I made more potato salad than you can ever imagine. And then later, I made bread pudding. That stuff rocks if you've never had it!
