The other day we set off on a half-hour hike to a great cliff-jumping spot - which turned into a 3 hour bush-whacking excursion through near vertical wooded cliffs and deathly prickle bushes - throughout which our friend "saw" our destination just ahead the whole time ... not. We finally found the jumping spot, and found the real tail to take us speedily home (where we intensely made fun of Ted for getting us so lost). Contrary to my ranting and discomfort, it was a blast!
I've been playing quite a bit of Ultimate frisbee with the other interns, which makes me really happy! We've made it a ritual that after our collective dinner, we clean up, head down to the beach, throw, play Ultimate, then jump in the lake. It's great!
Yesterday I took a small group of students (about a dozen) with our hiking guide/mountain man Bernard. We hiked in the Aravis mountains which were really beautiful and still mostly covered in snow! Despite some rain at the top, we saw some gorgeous views and got to practically "ski" down the mountain using our hiking boots! See the pics to the right if you're interested.
Yay, I'm going on an overnight hike tomorrow and Julie's coming to visit on Saturday! More to come...
