Overnight Hikin and Crepes

This weekend we went on an overnight hike with the 30 Tufts Summit high school students. It was so awesome! We started mid-day Saturday and hiked a few hours to a beautiful chalet up in the mountains. A bunch of us followed Bernard the mountain man up on an optional hike to a really sweet summit with an awesome view of the snow-capped Mont Blanc (the tallest peak in Western Europe). We hiked back down to the hut for an amazing dinner of potato pancakes, meat, cheese, bread and salad, and hit the hay on the mattresses jammed in the upstairs room of the little chalet. Bright and early, we set off for an alpine lake up in the mountains. Another optional hike led us up to this really amazing vista, and then we had our picnic lunch. A few hours down to the hut, and then back to the bus. Great hike!

We went into Annecy to have crepes with the few college students doing the French immersion program there. Crepes ROCK! I had one with apple goo, home-made caramel, and vanilla ice cream, called the Grand Mere (grandmother, or fat momma, depending on the emphasis). It was absolutely amazing.

Sorry, pretty boring post, but what can you do...
